CGI Show-reel breakdown.

All shots on reel are entirely produced by myself except for the final comp in “take one painting” at 0:26 – 0:29, this piece was group work, my responsibilities are listed below.

0:05 – 0:30 This is the take one painting project at the national film and television school, My responsibilities were to model the two characters, These characters were real actors on set, I took reference images of them and the modeled them in Maya, I also did a little sculpting in blender, they were textured in Photoshop. I then animated both of the characters in Maya, and did a cloth simulation for both of them as well. Next I rendered out 4 passes, (occlusion, diffuse, shadow, specular), and helped comp it in to the final shot.

0:30 – 1:10 Here are two character, they are modeled and animated in Maya, they have been fully rigged and also have a number of facial blend-shapes, They have been rendered in passes and comped together in fusion.

1:10 – 1:32 This is the main house for the national film and television schools graduate animation “Mummy’s Boy” by Chris Gooch, Its modeled in Maya, from a couple of concept drawings. The house is quite detailed as it appears in a few shots in the film, and needs to be seen from various angles and distances, the same goes for the interior, its all modeled in Maya, and textures in Photoshop.

1:32 – 1:38 This a clip from my final project at degree level (Darkside and Dave). This was modeled and animated in 3d max, the character had a number of lines so it has been lip-synced with the use of multiple morph targets, It was a live action film with a digital character, the compositing was done in After effects.

1:38 – 1:55 Random models made in 3dmax and blender, all textured with Photoshop, all personnel work

1:55 – end This is a shot for “Bed and Breakfast”, a film being made by the Cambridge filmmakers network; It’s a test to turn a normal scene into a post nuclear wasteland.
